This is the UKS unit that is charged with maintaining of UKS estates and for renting. This department started as a result of the closure of Production Unit on the 31st December 2005. This was a decision taken by management that sat on the 4th and 28th November 2005.
Estates department is headed by the Front/Estates Officer (currently Ms. Ntegeka Beatrice) who works hand in hand with the Principal Accountant in the day to day activities of Estates Unit.
The main activities of the department include:-
- to collect rent as an income to run the activities of the organization
- to keep UKS buildings and compound clean
- plumbing and electrical work
Income generated from the above mentioned has continuously supported UKS National Office in the following:-
Building and compound maintenance
Pay salaries to non BMZ paid staff of Uganda Kolping Society National Office
Pay gratuity to staff members
Our mission is to generate income for UKS' self sustainability.
With the increasing number of organisation in need of rental offices and the fact that many of them need our premises, the UKS National Board of Directors approved that a master plan for our land at National Office be made so that more office rooms and ware houses are constructed for renting
